This has been a hard road, originally doing it with ham radio equipment, one person at a time. Now with satellite equipment we will be able to help 12-36 people in the time we helped 1 person before. Better yet, it does not have to be a third party calling the families, its the survivors themselves.
Now, the steps to launch this have been hard. Funding probably being the hardest part, if you have not lived in either side of the disaster as survivor or loved one, you don’t necessarily understand the anxiety caused by not knowing.
Today was a great day, we are partnering with an international response team to travel with them when we are needed overseas. And we have also secured free flights inside the USA and Caribbean for our teams while responding to a disaster.
Part of launching has also been having to explain that we are not their for rescue, medical ops, cleanup, housing, etc. We are there to give peace of mind to survivors by letting them contact home. Simply being able to put in social media that they are OK and seeing all the people looking for them is a huge release.
So please help us with the hardest part of fund raising. Either click the button above to donate via our crowdfunding campaign, or contact us if you rather send a check or use Venmo or Paypal.
We are not yet a non-profit, but will be applying soon and are told that should be approved by October the latest, so we will be able to send you in-kind receipts for your tax deductions then.
Thank you from us, and all those you will be helping.
